William Elzie Jefferson

Mr. William Elzie Jefferson, age 84, of Jesup, Ga. passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at his home following an extended illness. 

A native of Atkinson County, Mr. Jefferson was born July 17, l935, son of Clarence T. Jefferson and Ruth White Jefferson. He had made his home in Willacoochee for many years before moving to Jesup, Ga.. His favorite pastime was fishing. He was a retired industrial mechanic and a U. S. Army Veteran. He was a member of Live Oak Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Jefferson.

Survivors include:

3 Sons:  Thomas Lee Jefferson and wife, Yvonne of Dry Fork, VA

             Chris Allen Jefferson of CT

             Robert Sydney Jefferson of Titusville, FLA

2 Daughters:  Sandra Marie Jefferson of Jesup, Ga.

                     Patricia Lynn Jefferson of Valdosta, Ga.

2 Sisters:  Sheila Purvis and husband, Raymond of Alapaha, Ga.

                Linda Heath and husband, Junior of Alapaha, Ga.

10 Grandchildren, 9 Great-Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Jefferson were held, Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Live Oak Church Cemetery in Pearson, Ga. with Rev. Ralph Griffin officiating. The interment with Military Honors followed at Live Oak Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were: Stephen Parsons, William Parsons, Shaun Stargel, Sydney Jefferson, Samantha Jefferson and Joey Yonkosky.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
