William "Bill" Andrew Steele

December 29, 1940 — May 12, 2020

Mr. William “Bill” A. Steele, age 79, of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020 following an extended illness.  A native of Huntland, Tn., he was born December 29, 1940, son of James Levi and Estelle Young Steele.  He received his Bachelor Degree and enjoyed being a self-employed Accountant.  Mr. Steele was of the Baptist faith and served as a music leader and Youth Minister at East Side Baptist Church.  He was a veteran of the USAF and loved any and all sports of Tennessee.  Mr. Steele spent his time playing the guitar, singing, boxing and martial arts.  He was preceded in death by his parents along with his sister, Ruby Thomas and three brothers, Melvin Eugene, Kenneth Austin and Robert Steele.  Survivors include:                                                                                                                                                                                         Wife: Mona Lynn Steele of Willacoochee, Ga.                                                                                                                                                    5 Sons: Andy Steele of Willacoochee, Ga.                                                                                                                                                                   Alex Steele and wife Jessica of Blackshear, Ga.                                                                                                                                               James Steele and wife Angela of Pearson, Ga.                                                                                                                                                Adam Steele and Brittany Morrison of Nicholls, Ga.                                                                                                                                          Austin Steele of Willacoochee, Ga.                                                                                                                                                       3 Daughters: Wendy Mueller of Charlotte, N.C.                                                                                                                                                   Kristy Applegate and husband Tony of Kampala Uganda, Africa                                                                                                          Paula Amy Steele and Timmy Hall of Nashville, Ga.                                                                                                                      2 Brothers: Levi Steele and wife Shirley of Chattanooga, Tn.                                                                                                                                       Charles Steele and wife Joanie of Tulsa, Ok.                                                                                                                              Several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.                                                                                                           Graveside funeral services for Mr. Steele was held on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Fussell officiating. The interment followed in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.  Serving as active pallbearers were, Lee Chancey, Henry Smith, III, Manning Smith, Allie Purvis, Timmy Hall, and Preston Hall.                                                                                                                                                 Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
