Mr. Wayne Bobby Giddens, age 79, of Pearson, Ga., passed away Monday, January 12, 2026, at his home in Pearson, Ga.
Mr. Giddens was born on December 17, 1946, in Pearson, Ga. to the late Willie Daniel and Ethel Cleo Harrell. He worked many years with Georgia Pacific and later retired as a truck driver for Wal-Mart. Along with being outside, he enjoyed taking care of his chickens, going to church, gardening, and spending time with his family. Mr. Giddens was a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Pat Smith and Henrietta Brown, and brother, Ken Giddens.
Survivors Include:
Wife: Virginia Giddens of Pearson, Ga.
3 Sons: Dennis Giddens and wife Paula of Pearson, Ga.
Josh Giddens of Pearson, Ga.
Wade Giddens and wife Wendy of Lakeland, Ga.
Daughter: Angie McDonald and husband Don of Willacoochee, Ga.
Brother: Harrell “Poochie” Giddens and wife Nettie of Homerville, Ga.
3 Sisters: Karen Moore of Pearson, Ga.
Linda Purvis and husband Raymon of Pearson, Ga.
Paula Tanner and husband Floyd of Axson, Ga.
9 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Giddens were held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Gilliard and Rev. Bobby Fussell officiating. Special music included “What a Day That Will Be” by the attending congregation and accompanied by Dorsey Thigpen on piano. Prelude and Postlude music by Dorsey Thigpen pianist. The interment followed in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers included: Members of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church
Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
