Wannell Purvis Anderson

Mrs. Wannell Purvis Anderson, age 68, of Fitzgerald, Ga. passed away, Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at her home following an extended illness.  A native of Douglas, Ga., Mrs. Anderson was born March 6, l951, daughter of Jake and Bernice Lott Purvis. She had made her home in Fitzgerald for the past nine years and had worked for many years at Campbell Soup in Douglas, Ga.. She loved puzzle books and being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Anderson, and 2 brothers, Jerry Purvis and Jimmy Lee Purvis.

7 Brothers:  Allie Purvis and wife, Roxanna of Pearson, Ga.

Clyde Purvis and wife, Janice of Pearson, Ga.

Tallie Purvis and wife, Mollie of Douglas, Ga.  

Wendell Purvis of Pearson, Ga.

Paul Purvis and wife, Carolyn of Jesup, Ga.

 Micager Purvis of Douglas, Ga.  

Jack Purvis and wife, Mary of Willacoochee, Ga.

2 Sisters:  Jacklyn Anderson of Pearson, Ga.

Verdie Mae Griffin of Douglas, Ga.

3 Grandchildren:  Lisa Davis and husband, Danny of Fitzgerald, Ga.

Blake Wilson of Fitzgerald, Ga.

Susan Villa Diaz and husband, Orlando of Americus, Ga.

4 Great-Grandchildren:  Danny Davis, Jr.   Chandler Horace Davis, Gracelynn Davis, and Olivia Villa Diaz.

Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Anderson were held at 11:00 A. M., Saturday, March 30, 20l9 at Purvis Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Fussell officiating. Special musical selections “Go Rest on That Mountain” and “Forever” were presented by CD. The interment followed in Purvis Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Danny Davis, Orlando Diaz, James Roberson, Jonathan Davis, Mitchell Carter and Joseph Roddinberry.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of all the arrangements.
