Mrs. Vivian Taft Nicholson, age 98, of Douglas, Ga. (formerly of Atkinson County), passed away Monday, November 17, 2025, at Lakeside Senior Living in Douglas, Ga. following an extended illness.
Mrs. Nicholson was born on May 02, 1927, in Pearson, Ga., to the late Cauley and Vicey Taft. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Sears in Douglas, Ga. and was a member of Refuge Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Nicholson enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, needle point, working in her yard, watching westerns and spending time with family. Along with her parents, Mrs. Nicholson is preceded in death by her sister, Thada Taft Harper.
Survivors Include:
Daughter: Lynn McKinnon and husband Jerry of Cordele, Ga.
Grandchildren: Tony McKinnon and wife Kim of Bixby, Ok.
Jason McKinnon of Willacoochee, Ga.
Matthew McKinnon and wife Jennifer of Willacoochee, Ga.
6 Great Grandchildren, 8 Great-Great Grandchildren and several other relatives also survive.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Nicholson were held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Antioch Church Cemetery with Rev. Jerry McKinnon and Rev. Tony McKinnon officiating. Special music included “Amazing Grace” presented by cd. The interment followed in Antioch Church Cemetery.
Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
