Vivian Carroll Gay

Mrs. Vivian Carroll Gay, age 88, of Axson, Ga., passed away November 01, 2025, at her home in Axson, Ga. following an extended illness.

Mrs. Gay was born on June 09, 1937, in Lakeland, Fl. to the late Joel E. and Blanche Odom Carroll. She made her home in Axson, Ga. after moving from Lakeland, Fl. in 1977. Mrs. Gay was a Homemaker and worked at Cady Bag for several years. She was a member of Axson Evangelistic Church and enjoyed crocheting, cooking, flowers and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Along with her parents, Mrs. Gay was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus M. Gay; sister, Larraine Croft; and 4 brothers, Carl Hines, Bronzie Hines, Harold Hines, and Joe Carrolll, Jr.

Survivors Include:

Son: Raymond Gay and wife Barbara of Axson, Ga.

Daughter: Tammy Bennett and husband Billy of Willacoochee, Ga.

5 Grandchildren: McKinley Musgrove and wife Meagan, Jenna Gaskins and husband Trebor, Rayna Miller and husband Trace, Amber Edgy and husband James, and Amanda Whitford and husband Bryan.

10 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Gay were held on Tuesday, November 04, 2025, at 11:00: A.M. at the Axson Evangelistic Church in Axson, Ga. with Rev. Edward Mathews officiating. Special music included “Hymn of Heaven” and “Where Her Heart Has Always Been” presented by cd. The interment followed in Axson Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers included: Trebor Gaskins, Trace Miller, James Edgy, Larry Corbitt, McKinley Musgrove, and Bryan Whitford.

Honorary Pallbearers included: David Burch, Jeffrey White, and Missy Bennett.

Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
