Virgil Walter Drake

Mr. Virgil Walter Drake, age 80, of Roswell, Ga., formerly of Pearson, Ga., passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Roswell Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Roswell, Ga.

Born August 08, 1944, in Douglas, Ga., Mr. Drake was the son of the late Chester Arthur “C. A.” and Thurla Herndon Drake. He graduated from Atkinson County High School and finished his education at the Americus Trade School. Mr. Drake made his life in Roswell, Ga. and worked at Oxford Industries before taking a clerk position at Walmart until his retirement.

Survivors include:

1 Brother: Arthur Murphy

1 Sister: Chesta Drake of Roswell, Ga

He is also survived by one niece.

A private burial for Mr. Drake was held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Sweetwater Cemetery.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
