Timothy "Tim" W. Mixon

Mr. Timothy W. “Tim” Mixon, age 58 of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Waycross Health and Rehabilitation Center in Waycross, Ga. following an extended illness.  He was born, May 12, 1963, in Ocilla, Ga. to W.C. and Aline Brogdon Mixon.  Mr. Mixon made his home in Willacoochee for many years and served the surrounding areas, as an EMT with Okefenokee Medical Services, and as a volunteer firefighter with the Willacoochee Fire Department.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Masonic Lodge #197 F&AM. In his spare time, Mr. Mixon enjoyed being outdoors, whether it be hunting, fishing, or camping, but most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family.  Mr. Mixon was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include:

Wife of 31 years:  Evie Mixon of Willacoochee, Ga.

2 Daughters:  Janie Mixon and Kacey of Willacoochee, Ga.

                        Jennifer Thomas and husband Antwan of Willacoochee, Ga.

2 Brothers:  Jerry Mixon and wife Brenda of Willacoochee, Ga.

                    Carol Mixon and wife Ruby of Milledgeville, Ga.

4 Grandchildren:  Raymond Mitchell, Markus Mitchell, Tylin Thomas, and Alyviah Mixon.

Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Mixon were held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Relihan Funeral Home Chapel in Pearson, Ga. with Rev. Russell Joiner officiating.  Special memories were shared by his daughter, Jennifer Thomas, and his grandson, Raymond Mitchell.  Musical selections included, “Broken Halo” and “A Bible and a 44” both rendered by cd.  The interment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery where his “Last Call” was conducted by the Atkinson County EMS & Fire Department, along with Tri-County 911 Center.

Serving as active pallbearers were:  Antwon Thomas, Raymond Mitchell, Markus Mitchell, Wayne Mixon, Shannon Mitchell and Lee Pittman.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
