Steven Arthur Soles

Mr. Steven Arthur “Steve” Soles, age 61 of Pearson, Ga., passed away Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Memorial Hospital in Savannah, Ga. following a short illness.

A native of Douglas, Ga., Mr. Soles was born April 15, l959, son of William Soles and Myrtice Gieger McCallum.  He had been employed with the city of Pearson for the past 35 years as Water and Sewer Director.

In his spare time, he enjoyed riding horses, fishing and motorcycle riding.

Survivors include:

Wife:  Karen Soles of Pearson, Ga.

Son:  Jeffery Massey and wife, Shirley of Woodbine, Ga.

Daughter:  Deeva Askew and husband, Scott of Pearson, Ga.

Sister:  Vickie Merritt of Douglas, Ga.

6 Grandchildren:  Candie McKinnon and husband, Jaron

                          Jennifer Wise and husband, Cody

                          Austin Askew and wife, Dagan 

                          Steven Massey

                          Christopher Massey and wife, Elyssa

                          Austin Massey and wife, Katlin

6 Great-Grandchildren and several Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. Soles were held on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Relihan Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Mathews officiating and the Eulogy given by his sister, Vickie Merritt. Special music included “Beulah Land” and “Jesus is Real” presented by CD. The interment followed in Satilla Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were, Jaron McKinnon, Cody Wise, Austin Massey, Steven Massey, Christopher Massey and Billy Joe Sutton. Honorary pallbearers were Chris Merritt, Ashley Merritt, Justin Merritt and Jason Merritt.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
