Mrs. Shirley Elizabeth Segrest, age 80, of Albany, Ga. passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga. following an extended illness.
Mrs. Segrest was born September l3, l943, daughter of the late Thomas H. and Velma Inez Simmon McDaniel. She had made her home in Willacoochee before moving to Albany many years ago. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Move Christian Church. She enjoyed singing, cross stitching, had a wonderful sense of humor and loved being around people. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Hall III, daughter, Kortnie Beth McDaniel, sister, Mary McDaniel, and 2 brothers, Frankie McDaniel and Benjamin McDaniel.

Husband: Ray Segrest of Albany, Ga.
Daughter: Teresa Walker and husband Glenn of Pearson, Ga.
2 Sons: Benny Hall and wife Sharon of Pearson, Ga.
Vince Allen Brogdon of Nashville, Ga.
Brother: James McDaniel of Byron, Ga.
3 Sisters: Debbie McDaniel Wilburn of Byron, Ga.
Phyllis Herrin of Reynolds, Ga.
Esther Spires of Warner Robins, Ga.
Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Segrest were held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at the Willacoochee City Cemetery in Willacoochee, Ga. with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Special music selections included, “Amazing Grace”, “Go Rest High” and “Scars in Heaven” by cd. The interment followed in Willacoochee City Cemetery.
Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
