Rosie Trowell Stone

Mrs. Rosie Trowell Stone, age 84, of Pearson, Ga. passed away, Friday, February 10, 2023, at Coffee Regional Medical Center.  

Born January 12, 1939, in Homerville, Ga., Mrs. Stone was the daughter of Agie and Zeila Jordan Trowell. She had made her home in Atkinson County for most of her life, was a homemaker and worked for years in sewing and cigar factories. She also worked as an escort in the mobile home industry. In her spare time she enjoyed arts and crafts, fishing and sewing. She was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Stone, brother, Lonnie Trowell, 5 sisters, Elois Foster, Lottie Bennett, Linnie Doris Prescott, Betty Jordan and Dorothy Mixon.

Survivors include:

Son:  William Junior Stone and wife, Wanda of Pearson, Ga. 

Daughter:  Rosemary Osbourne of Waycross, Ga.

3 Grandchildren:  William Stone, Elizabeth Stone, and Amy Giddens

Great-Granddaughter:  Melissa Mondragon

Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Stone were held, Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Sunnyside Baptist Church with Rev. Teddy Burch officiating. Special music included “Pass Me Not” and “Amazing Grace” rendered by Kathy Bennett who accompanied herself on the guitar The interment followed in Sunnyside Cemetery Kathy Bennett singing and playing a medley of songs (I’ll Fly Away, I Saw The Light and Will the Circle Be Unbroken.

Serving as active pallbearers were:  Chad Burch, Ronnie Purvis, Michael Joiner, Corey Hayes, Derrick Newcomb, Roger Taft, and Mickey Brady

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
