OBITUARY                                                                                                   MR. ROBERT L. “BUDDY” TANNER

 

Mr. Robert L. “Buddy” Tanner, age 90, of Pearson, Ga. passed away Monday, June 03, 2019 at his home in Pearson, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Kirkland, Ga., Mr. Tanner was born, January 19, 1929, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. and Lillie Mae McKinnon Tanner. He was a retired poultry farmer, being one of the first famers in the area to have egg houses. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and in his younger years he enjoyed riding motorcycles. He was a U. S. Army veteran having served with the 82nd ABN. Div. from l946 to l949. His church membership was at Elbethel Church in Pearson, Ga. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Cecil Tanner, Clark Tanner and Morris Tanner and a niece, Debra Tanner.

 

Survivors include:

 

Wife: Catherine Carter Tanner of Pearson, Ga.

 

Nephew: Steven C. Tanner of Clearwater, Fl.

 

3 Nieces: Stephanie Jernigan of Titus, Al.

     Dorothy Heathman of Seattle, Wa.

     Katherine Bannebell of Seattle, Wa.

 

Several other relatives also survive.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Tanner were held on Thursday, June 06, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Elbethel Church with Sister Barbara Wall and Bro. Roger Baskin officiating. Special musical selections included, “In the Garden” rendered by Geraldine Spradley and “Amazing Grace” rendered by the attending congregation with Dorothy Baskin accompanying at the piano. Soft music for the Prelude and the Postlude was by Dorothy Baskin, pianist.             The interment followed in Sweetwater Cemetery.

 

Serving as active pallbearers were: Cam Newmans, Shane Newmans, Jody Fussell, Kevin Fussell, Wade Whitley, James Gore, Neil Dillingham and Reed Dillingham.

 

Serving as honorary pallbearers were all attending the service.

 

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of all the arrangements.
