Reba Ann Mizell

February 15, 1945 — January 16, 2021

Mrs. Reba Ann Mizell, age 75 of Axson, Ga. passed away, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at South Ga. Medical Center in Valdosta, Ga. following a short illness.  A native of Axson, Ga., Mrs. Mizell was born in Homerville on, February 15, 1945, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Spencer and Allie Nell Giddens Mizell.  She was of the Baptist faith and attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church for over fifty years.  Mrs. Mizell was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, fishing and especially spending time with all her family, especially her grandbabies.  She was preceded in death, along with her parents, by her granddaughter; Lauren Claire George and great-great-grandson, Aiden Walker Gillis.

Survivors include:

Husband:  Jessie Donald "Duck" Mizell of Axson, Ga.

2 Sons:  Lee Mizell and wife, Brenda of Axson, Ga.

             Travis Mizell and special friend, Michelle Ellis of Axson, Ga.

2 Daughters:  Diane White and husband, Rodney of Axson, Ga.

                     Lori George and husband, Chris of Axson, Ga.

3 Sisters:  Sue Nell McClellan and husband, Ronald of Valdosta, Ga.

                Latrelle Peters and husband, Bobby of Valdosta, Ga.

                Audrey Swilley and husband, Gary of Dawsonville, Ga.

12 Grandchildren, 20 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren along with several other Nieces, Nephews and other relatives also survive.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Mizell were held, Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Rev. Walter James officiating.  Special musical selections included, "I'll be Waiting at the River for You" and "Far Away" rendered by cd.  The interment followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were her grandsons:  Johnny Davis, Dustin White, Garrett White, Caleb White, Davis Gillis and Ian Mizell.  

Serving as honorary pallbearers were:  Bartley Nugent, Ben Daniels, Greg Vickers, Ben Higgs, Mr. and Mrs. Carol Carver and Mt. Zion Senior Adult Sunday School Class.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
