Paul Allen Tindall

February 1, 1947 — April 23, 2022

Mr. Paul Allen Tindall, age 75 of Millwood, Ga. passed away, Saturday, April 23, 2022, at his home following an extended illness. 

Mr. Tindall was born February 1, l947, in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., son of the late Paul Henry and Amelia (Sister) Bennett Tindall. He had made his home in the Millwood Community for most of his life.

He served in the U. S. Army and was a combat veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the 101st Airborne Brigade. His military decorations included, Parachute Badge, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. After completing his military service, he embarked on a career in Law Enforcement. He worked as a Police Officer with the Pearson Police Department, where he served as Chief of Police, the Douglas Police Department and with the Blackshear Police Department where he retired as a Sergeant. He also worked as a security guard for Satilla Regional and Satilla Rehab.

He was an active member of Ozias Freewill Baptist Church in Pearson, Ga. where he was the Pre-Teen Sunday School teacher. He loved going to church and interacting with his church family until his health declined and could no longer attend.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Dana Tindall. 

Survivors include:

Brother:  Lawrence Tindall and wife Janet of Axson, Ga.

Sister:  Sue Tindall of Millwood, Ga. who was his caregiver.

Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Tindall were held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Ozias Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Johnson and Rev. Clayton Davis officiating. Special musical selections were “What a Day That Will Be” and “Take My Hand Precious Lord” rendered by Soloist Bonnie Corbitt with Suzette Bennett accompanying at the piano.  “Amazing Grace” was sung as a congregational hymn with Suzette Bennett at the piano. Prelude and Postlude music was by Suzette Bennett pianist. The interment followed in Bennett Cemetery in Millwood, Ga. with Military Honors provided by an Honor Guard Contingent from Ft. Stewart, Ga.

Serving as active pallbearers were, Lawrence Tindall, James Bennett, Randall Bennett, Robert Tindall, Dane Davis, Brice Corbitt and Luke Joyner.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
