Montene Williams Vizena

Montene Williams Vizena, age 84, passed away on Friday, October 9 2026, at her home in Douglas following an extended illness. Montene was born to Selvin Williams and Helen O’Brien Wiliams of Axson. She was raised in Atkinson County and lived there off and on during her life. She was employed most of her adult life by Truist Bank, from where she retired in 1997. She was married to John Larry Vizena for the past 46 years.

Montene is preceded in death by husband: Larry Vizena of Douglas; her parents Selvin and Helen Williams; 1 brother, Russell Williams formerly of Axson; and 1 great grandchild; Gage White of Douglas.

Montene is survived by 3 children: Stephen Wilkerson (Kathy) of Axson, Melinda Phillips (Stacy) of Douglas and Carol Purvis (Wade) of Douglas; 9 grandchildren: Michael Wilkerson, Jessica Wilkerson, Courtney White, Austin Grimes, Brian Bush, Denton Phillips, Keller Phillips, Elisa Stevens, and Elana Sorrelle; 21 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren.

Also, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members survive.

Montene will be memorialized by cremation. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Utah Cemetery Fund, Holy Family Catholic Church, or another charity of your choice.
