Michael Wayne Jewell

July 25, 1967 — April 7, 2022

Mr. Michael Wayne Jewell, age 54 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. following a short illness.  He was born, July 24, 1967, in Warner Robins, Ga., son of Theo Levi and Caroline Niceler Jewell.  Mr. Jewell made his home in the Pearson and Willacoochee areas as he worked as a truck driver with Bennett Trucking Company.  He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by his son, Michael W. Jewell, Jr. and brother, Charles Ladson.

Survivors include:

2 Daughters: Misty Dawn Jewell and Keith Weathersby of Pearson, Ga.

                    Dorothy Jewell of Pearson, Ga.

2 Brothers: Tony Jewell and wife Sandy of Pearson, Ga.

                  Jack Jewell and wife Donna of Atlanta, Ga.

Sister: Rebecca Scott of Pearson, Ga.

2 Stepdaughters: Mary Beth Price and husband Will of Homerville, Ga. 

                           Ashley Westberry of Homerville, Ga.

Special Niece:  Tina Jewell of Willacoochee, Ga.  

4 Grandchildren: Landon Jewell, Shaun Jewell, Gavin Jewell, and John Jewell.

5 step grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Jewell were held Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at the Willacoochee Church of God with Rev. Jimmy Spikes officiating.  Special musical selections included, “Scars in Heaven”, “Dancing in the Sky” and “Heaven Was Needing a Hero” all rendered by cd.  The interment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery with song, “Jealous of the Angels” by cd.

Serving as active pallbearers were:  Cameron Henderson, Chris Dixon, James Murray, Joe Yancy, Marshall Courdle, James Larry Courdle, Jessie Reliford, and James Reliford.

Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
