Mary Margaret Giddens Jones

Ms. Mary Margaret Giddens Jones, age 84, of Willacoochee, Ga., passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025, at her home in Willacoochee, Ga. after a short illness.

Born December 4, 1940, in Atkinson County, Ms. Jones was the daughter of the late Kin and Elizabeth Pearson Giddens. Ms. Jones worked for many years at the State of Ga. Department of Revenue until her retirement. She lived in Conyers, Ga. before returning to Atkinson County in 1990. She was a member of Willacoochee Christian Church in Willacoochee, Ga. and enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts especially at Christmas time. In addition to her parents, Ms. Jones was preceded in death by her Grandson, Kaine Dillingham and 4 Brothers, Riley “Runt” Giddens, Doyle Giddens, J.S. Giddens and Howard Giddens

Survivors include:

Son: Loring Giddens of Willacoochee, Ga.

Daughter: Cynthia Dillingham and husband Derrick of Willacoochee, Ga.

3 Grandchildren: Shenna Davis and husband Jake

                            Dalton Dillingham and wife Kaitlyn

                            Dillon Giddens

4 Great Grandchildren and other nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Ms. Jones were held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the Relihan Funeral Home Chapel in Pearson, Ga. with Sister Angie Stone and Rev. Lori Hartley officiating. Special music included “Long Black Train”, and “What a Day That Will Be”. The internment followed in Union Hill Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers included: Payton Dillingham, Dillon Giddens, Dalton Dillingham, Keith Haskins, James Gore, Jr. and Rhen Davis.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. were in charge of the arrangements.
