Mrs. Madie Adeline Rivers, age 64, of Nashville, Ga. passed away, Sunday, October 18, 2020 at South Georgia Medical Center in Lakeland, Ga. 

Mrs. Rivers was born October 12, l956 in Homerville, Ga. to the late Mitchell “Buddy” and Madeline Braswell Adams.  She had lived in Atkinson County for most of her life and worked as a visiting nurse with Atlantic Home Aide. She was a member of Cornerstone Church.

Survivors include:

Husband:  Ricky Rivers of Nashville, Ga.

 

4 Sons:  Ronnie Curtis Touchton and wife, Crystal of Columbus, Ga.

             Brandon Matthew Touchton of Nashville, Ga.

             Thomas Junior Bagley and wife, Mackenzie of Pearson, Ga.

             Dustin Blake Bagley and wife, Annie of Willacoochee, Ga.

 

Step-Son:  Ricky Rivers, Jr. of Willacoochee, Ga.

 

4 Daughters:  Melissa Renae Touchton of Nashville, Ga.

                     Amy Alesia Bennett of Axson, Ga.

                    M'Star Dora Futch and husband, Trey of Nashville, Ga.

                    Spring Renae Moore and husband, Kerry, Jr. of Douglas, Ga.

 

Brother:  Preston Adams of Axson, Ga.

 

3 Sisters:  Pam Garrett of Elijay, Ga.

               Mary Luke and husband, Keith of Axson, Ga.

               Barbara Nipper and husband, Thomas of Douglas, Ga.

 

Several Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren along with several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and other relatives also survive.

 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Rivers were held, Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Cornerstone Church in Pearson, Ga. at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Benji Adams and Rev. Allen Arrowood officiating. Special music included “Mama”, “Jealous of the Angels”, “Dancing in the Sky” and “In the Arms of an Angel” presented by cd. “God on the Mountain” was rendered by Justin Josey with cd accompaniment.  Prelude and Postlude music was by cd.  The interment followed in Indian Mound Cemetery in Millwood, Ga.

 

Serving as active pallbearers were grandsons, Javier Martinez, Keagan Williams, Isaiah Ashford, Ashton Touchton, Ashton Grantham, and Dakota Bennett.

 

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
