Mr. Lucious Luke, age 85, of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away, Thursday, September 27, 2018 at his home in Willacoochee, Ga. following an extended illness.

A native of Irwin County, Mr. Luke was born March 29, l933, son of John W. (Jack) Luke and Nealie Hinton Luke. He was retired from Sears in Union Point, Elixir Industries in Douglas and from the City of Willacoochee. He loved people, especially his family. He enjoyed visiting with people and sharing the fruits of his labor (his garden) with his family and neighbors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, John Wesley Luke, Jr. and Cleo Luke, 3 sisters, Dorothy Lee Callaway, Inez Crosby and Doris Merritt.

Survivors include:
5 Brothers: Ottis Luke and wife Barbara of Willacoochee, Ga.

                   Curtis Luke and wife Dean of Willacoochee, Ga.

                   Elmer Luke and wife Sally of Willacoochee, Ga.

                   James Luke and wife Lenora of Winter Haven, Fl.

                   Butler Luke and wife Linda of Wray, Ga.
                 
4 Sisters:  Voncile Cavender and husband Jim of Graniteville, S.C.

                 Versa Mae (late Raymond) Law of Fitzgerald, Ga.

                 Jewel Faye Moore of Ocala, Fl.

                 Brenda Carroll Jewell and husband Sonny of Tifton, Ga.

Special Nieces: Edwina Vickers and Earlene Roland.

Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Luke were held Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Willacoochee Church of God in Willacoochee, Ga. with Rev. Brad Luke and Rev. Kevin Vickers officiating. Special musical selections included “This World is not my Home” rendered by Rocky Harper and Abigail Luke with Rocky accompanying on guitar and “I’ll Meet You in the Morning” was presented by CD. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was by CD. The interment followed in Lax Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were nephews: Tommy Luke, Richard Luke, Steven Luke, Gabe Luke, Jordan Luke and Brady Luke.

Honorary pallbearers were: Logan Harper, Chester Hall, Jim Mills,

Bobby Lashley, Bud O’Neal, Lee Pittman, Donald Vickers, Jim Paulk and Carlis Luke.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
