Leah Elline Hewitt McDonald

Mrs. Leah Elline Hewitt McDonald, age 74, of Pearson, Ga., passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga.

Mrs. McDonald was born on November 25, 1951, in Douglas, Ga. to the late Willie Hewitt and Joanne Morris Higgs. She was a lifelong resident of Pearson, Ga. and a l969 Graduate of Atkinson County High School. She retired after many years of work as an educator with the Atkinson County Board of Education. Mrs. McDonald enjoyed spending time with her family. Along with her parents, Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Hewitt.

Survivors Include:

Husband: Lloyd McDonald of Pearson, Ga.

Daughter: Shelley Doyle and husband Michael of Douglas, Ga.

Brother: John Higgs and wife Candace of Douglas, Ga.

Grandson: Hogan Doyle

Several other relatives also survive.

Memorialization is by cremation.

Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
