Lamar Rey Ortega

Mr. Lamar Rey Ortega, age 23 of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away, Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. He was born, February 7, 1999, in Douglas, Ga. to Luis Rey Ortega and Jennifer Mosley Ortega.  Mr. Ortega made his home in Douglas where he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his “pops” and collecting knives and guns.  He loved being with his family and will be greatly missed.  Mr. Ortega was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Maria Del Rosario Trujillo and Etren Ortega and by his maternal grandparents; John Mosely and Dale Scott.

Survivors include:

Mother:  Jennifer Mosley Ortega and fiancé Berry Floyd of Willacoochee, Ga.

Father:  Luis Rey Ortega of Valdosta, Ga.

Sister:  Reyna Ortega of Valdosta, Ga.

Significant other:  Alicha Stephens of Douglas, Ga.

Several other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Ortega were held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Willacoochee First Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Joiner and Rev. Joe Taft officiating. Special musical selections included, “In Case You Didn’t Know”, “Go Rest High”, “One Sweet Day” and “The Talking Song Repair Blues” all rendered by cd.  Prelude and Postlude music was provided by pianist, Megan Williams.  The interment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were:  Dalton Floyd, Dustin Floyd, Armando Ortega, Johnny Murray, Damion Reyes, and Ignacio Rodriguez, Jr.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
