Mr. John Wesley “Johnny” Tanner, age 74 of Pearson, Ga., passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022, at his home. He was born February 28, 1946, son of Leon “Zeke” and Colleen Clement Tanner. Mr. Johnny made his home in Pearson where he raised his family, alongside his wife, Nell, and worked many years with Napa Auto Parts. Once retired, Mr. Johnny enjoyed many other hobbies including, hunting, fishing, working on cars and trucks, spending time with friends and family and riding the golf cart with his four-legged best friend, Charlie Brown. Mr. Johnny attended Sweetwater United Methodist Church in Pearson, Ga. and was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam era. Mr. Johnny was preceded in death, along with his parents, by his wife, Nelva “Nell” Tanner, brother, Jesse “Zeke” Tanner and sister, Ruby Ellen Swindle.

Son: Locke Tanner and wife April of Lizella, Ga.
Sisters: Sandra Tanner Pittman of Axson, Ga.
Grandchildren: Ella Tanner and Sutherlin Tanner
Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Graveside memorial services for Mr. Tanner were held Monday, January 31, 2022, at the Pelz Family Cemetery with Rev. Edward Mathews officiating. Special musical selections included, "I Remember You" and "Amazing Grace” both rendered by c.d. The interment followed in the Pelz Family Cemetery.
Memorialization was by cremation.
Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
