Jefferson Henry Vining

Mr. Jefferson Henry Vining, more commonly known as Jay, was born on April 6, 1943, in Willacoochee, Ga where he was raised and attended school.

Jay passed away peacefully at Life Care Nursing Center in Orange Park, Fl., September 20, 2024 after a long illness.

Jay was preceded in death by his parents, George and Murtice Rowe Vining, one daughter, Lisa Vining Stepp, two brothers, Gary and Vincent Vining and one sister, Mamie Vining Summerlin.

He is survived by 2 sons, Vincent and Stanley Vining Of Jacksonville, Fl., one daughter Coreen Bennett of Baxley, Ga., and two sisters, Delane Delk-Mills and Melinda Wilson of Jacksonville Fl.

Jay was blessed with 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.

A memorial service will be held on April 26, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion church in Axson, Ga. with Stacy and Steve Sirmans officiating.
