James "Bud" Willis O'Neal

Mr. J. W. “Bud” O’Neal, age 81 of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away Wednesday, December, 12, 20l8 at his home following a short illness.

A native of Atkinson County, Mr. O’Neal was born January 31, l937, son of James Willis and Hazel Mae Ledom O’Neal. He was a well known businessman in the Willacoochee community, having interest in real estate, rental property, convenience stores and the automobile and wrecker business. He was a member of the Willacoochee Church of God and was preceded in death by his wife, Jimmie Davis O’Neal, son, Buddy O’Neal and daughter, Wanda O’Neal Spivey.

Survivors include:

2 Daughters: Peggy Miller and husband Duaine of Douglas, Ga.

                       Evie Mixon of Willacoochee, Ga.

1 Son: Stevie O’Neal of Willacoochee, Ga.

1 Sister: Christine McLendon of Douglas, Ga.

Son-In-Law: Mike Spivey of Valdosta, Ga.

Grandchildren: Brandon Miller and wife Sandy

                           Ashton Miller

                           Nicole Spivey

                           Katilyn Spivey Thrift and husband Kane

                           Jennifer Thomas and husband Antwan

                           Janie French

Great Grandchildren: Caroline Parker Miller, Raymond Mitchell and Markus Mitchell

Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. O’Neal were held at 11:00 A. M. Friday, December 14, 20l8 at the Willacoochee Church of God with Rev. Lance Taylor and Rev. Charles Blair officiating.

Special music included, “I’ll Meet You in the Morning” and “Look for Me” presented by CD and “Amazing Grace” was rendered by the attending congregation with Bonnie Kunberger accompanying at the piano. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was by Bonnie Kunberger, pianist. The interment followed in Willacoochee City Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were: Brandon Miller, Shannon Mitchell, Raymond Mitchell, Markus Mitchell, Tommy Guthrie, Kenny McLendon and Mike Gowen.

Honorary pallbearers included: Jimmy Mullis, Ottis Luke, Bobby Lashley and Charlie Bray.

Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
