Mrs. Helen “Patsy” Patricia Tanner Carter, age 84, of Pearson, Ga, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025, at her home in Pearson, Ga.

Born September 9, 1940, in Douglas, Ga., Mrs. Carter was the daughter of the late William Luel “Dodger” and Opal Williams Tanner. She spent her life in Atkinson County and was a homemaker and substitute teacher. She also worked for many years as a Floral Designer at Thomas Flowers in Douglas, Ga. Mrs. Carter enjoyed fishing and hunting with her family, traveling, shopping, and keeping in touch with family and friends. She was a member Beulah Church in Willacoochee, Ga. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carter is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Carter, and 2 sisters, Dodgerie Davis and Maxine Deen Hamilton.

Survivors include:

2 Sons: Ricky Carter and wife Terri of Pearson, Ga.

             Rodney Carter and wife Ola of Waycross, Ga.

2 Grandchildren: Carrol Carter and fiancé Amy Duddy of Fitzgerald, Ga

                            Nathan Carter and wife Allison of Willacoochee, Ga.

Great Grandson: Cameron Carter

Several other relatives also survive.

Graveside services for Mrs. Carter were held on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Willacoochee City Cemetery in Willacoochee, Ga. with Pastor Rodney Carter and Minister Marva Henderson officiating. Special music included “I Won’t Complain” by Minister Marva Henderson and “Amazing Grace” by cd. The internment followed in Willacoochee City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Willacoochee Christian Church, formerly Willacoochee United Methodist Church, in Willacoochee, Ga.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
