Mr. Hayward Carter Cribb, age 75, of Willacoochee, Ga., passed away Friday, July 17, 2026, at Vista Park Health and Rehabilitation Center in Douglas, Ga., following a brief illness.
Mr. Cribb was born on November 28, 1950, to the late Henry Carter and Clara Belle Hayes Cribb. He graduated from Atkinson County High School in 1968 and was a farmer and carpenter by trade, but he was known as a man who could fix anything. He enjoyed woodworking, watching westerns, and playing almost any musical instrument, especially his guitar. Mr. Cribb was a faithful member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, where he taught adult Sunday School for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Stone Cribb, son, Jayson Carter Cribb, and brother, Wendell Cribb.

Daughter: Heather Fairley and husband Chris of Willacoochee, Ga.
2 Brothers: Wayne Cribb and wife Mary Lou of Willacoochee, Ga.
Terry Cribb and wife Sheila of Willacoochee, Ga.
3 Sisters: Lavonya Stone and husband Roy of Alapaha, Ga.
Ramona Langston of Crawfordville, Fl.
Nelda Flanders of Douglas, Ga.
Grandson: Joshua Carter Cribb of Willacoochee, Ga.
Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive Mr. Cribb.
Funeral services for Mr. Cribb were held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Alapaha, Ga., with Rev. Michael Bennett and Rev. Kevin Stone officiating. Special music included “I Can Feel The Tug” by Kyle Stone, guitarist. “Leaning On The Everlasting Arms” and “Victory In Jesus” were presented by St. Luke Church choir with Nelda Flanders accompanying on piano. Prelude and postlude were presented by Nelda Flanders, pianist. Mr. Cribb’s grandson, Joshua Carter Cribb, also played the piano during the prelude. The interment followed in St. Luke Church Cemetery.
Serving as active pallbearers were: Chris Fairley, Joshua Cribb, Ryan Cribb, Kyle Stone, Kenny Mizell, and Michael Stone
Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
