Mr. Grover Quillian “Quill” James, Jr., age 79, of Pearson, Ga. passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Memorial University Hospital in Savannah, Ga.
Mr. James was born on August 19, 1945, to the late Quillian, Sr. and Catherine Upton James. He made his home in Pearson, Ga. and worked as a Forester with Union Camp until retirement and later as a Deputy Sheriff for Atkinson County. He was also the owner of Bear Creek Trailer Park. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, socializing, and being outside. He was a combat veteran of the Vietnam Conflict having served with the U S Army First Air Cavalry Division in l965and l966. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda James, and brother, Lockie James.

2 Daughters: April Mobley and husband Cliff of Broxton, Ga.
Andrea Cudd and husband Randy of Douglas, Ga.
Brother: L.H. James and wife Judy of Pearson, Ga.
Special Friend: Martha Royals
Grandchild: Austin Cudd of Brunswick, Ga.
Several other relatives also survive.
Funeral Services for Mr. James were held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 2:00 P.M., at Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. with Rev. Edward Mathews officiating and eulogy by Michael Lee. Special music included “Midnight Cry” and “Amazing Grace” presented by cd. The internment followed in Red Bluff Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by a U.S. Army Honor Guard from Ft. Stewart, Ga.
Serving as active pallbearers were: Cliff Mobley, Chase Mobley, Austin Cudd, Randy Cudd, Ricky Rivers, and Arte Gordon.
Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
