Gloria Cannon Davis

Mrs. Gloria Jeanette Davis, age 82, of Pearson, GA, passed away Sunday, June 08, 2025, at home surrounded by her loved ones following an extended illness.

Gloria was born on May 25, 1943, in Douglas, Ga. to the late Henry Lee and Lola Mae Sweat Cannon. She resided in Broxton, Ga. until she was 12 years old. At this time, she moved to Pearson to live with her widowed father. She married the love of her life, Jerry, at 18 years old in 1961. Together they worked hard farming and raising their four children until his death in 2020. Later in life she worked as a paraprofessional at Pearson Elementary. She enjoyed working with the kids, lunchroom staff and PE teachers. Gloria loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always ready to take a road trip with her daughter and friend, Lene. She was an amazing cook and was willing to teach her family. Gloria attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and in addition to her parents Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Davis, granddaughter, Bobbie Lynn Moore, 4 sisters, and a brother.

3 Sons: Lamar Davis (Tina) of Pearson, GA

             Mitchell Davis (Missy) of Pearson, GA

             Jonathan Davis of Pearson, GA

Special longtime friend, Lene Rowell of Douglas, GA

8 Grandchildren: Ashley Davis, Brandon Davis, Cody Davis, Zachary Davis, Ariel Vincent, Koby Davis, Makenzie Davis, and Michael Barlow

7 Great Grandchildren: Carleigh Woods, Carson Davis, Jackson Davis, Emerson Barlow, Macy Barlow, Tatum Pearl Davis, and Remi Vincent

Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Graveside services for Mrs. Davis were held at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Sweetwater Cemetery in Pearson, GA with Rev. Bobby Fussell officiating. The interment followed in Sweetwater Cemetery.
