Mrs. Glenda Ann White Tanner, age 77, of Axson, Georgia, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023. Glenda’s bright smile, friendly personality, and dedicated service to others will be missed tremendously.
A native of Atkinson County, Mrs. Tanner was born on February 2, 1946, in Axson, to the late Nephi Edwin White and Christine Wall White. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter (Rena Tanner), brother (Floyd White), sisters (Johnnie Mae Taft and Latrelle Highsmith), and brother-in-law (Wayne White).
Glenda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends (especially her precious granddaughters) and helping people in any way she could. Glenda’s friendship was a gift to many special people who will forever cherish the memories and special moments shared with her during their lives.
Mrs. Tanner is survived by her husband, David Tanner, of Axson; son and daughter-in-law, Floyd and Paula Tanner, of Axson; brother and sister-in-law, Wilford and Jakey White, of Axson; sister, Susan White, of Axson; three grandchildren, Chelsea Tanner, Demi Tanner, and Shelly Tanner; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Tanner were held on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at 3:00 P.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Pearson, Georgia, with Bishop Ronnie Cribb, Bro. Steve Sirmans, and Bro. Michael Davis officiating. Special music included “Amazing Grace,” “Go Rest High on That Mountain,” and “Memories” presented by CD, with Pres. Ashley Woods giving the closing prayer. The interment followed in Utah cemetery in Axson, Georgia, with the dedication of the grave being given by Bro. Ray Fussell.
Serving as pallbearers were Kevin White, Trey Fussell, Blake Fussell, Josh Fussell, Casey Davis, and Jake Davis.
Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Georgia, was in charge of the arrangements.
