Gladys Hardee Thompson

Mrs. Gladys Hardee Thompson, age 87, Jacksonville, Fl. passed away Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Douglas Center in Jacksonville, Fl. following an extended illness.

Mrs. Thompson was born on April 18, 1939, to the late Cullen Charles and Winnie Lee McKinnon Hardee. She lived in Jacksonville, Fl. for 68 years and worked as a seamstress for bridal companies. Mrs. Thompson was of Christian faith and enjoyed estate sales, yard sales, cooking, yard work, and animals. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Thompson, Sr., 2 sons, Mark Thompson Jr, James Thompson, grandson, Mark Thompson III, sister, Louise Hardee Gilliard, and brother, Charles Hardee.

Survivors Include

Son: David Thompson of Jacksonville, Fl.

2 Brothers: Roy Lee Hardee of Millwood, Ga.

                        Ronnie Hardee of Axson, Ga.

Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thompson were held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 11 A.M. at Zion Hill Freewill Baptist Church in Millwood, Ga. with Rev. Clayton Davis officiating. Special music included “I Want to Stroll Over Heaven with You” presented by cd. The interment followed in Zion Hill Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers included: Michael Hardee, Wesley Gilliard, Brad Hardee, Preston Hardee, Kelly Thompson, Ray Thompson, Perry Thompson, and Thomas Pittman.

Honorary Pallbearers included: Ron Ricketson, Sam Higgs, and Greg Higgs.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
