Freddy Suggs

Mr. Freddy Suggs, age 65, of Nashville, Ga.and Willacoochee passed away, Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at his residence, following an extended illness.

Born August 27, l953 in Hahira, Ga., Mr. Suggs was the son of John and Inell McIntyre Suggs. He had made his home in the Willacoochee area for most of his life. He worked as a mechanic and in his free time, he loved to do yard work and work in his garden. He was a member of Willacoochee Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Brenda Suggs and a sister, Margie Suggs.

Survivors include:  

Daughter:  Denise Whaley of Nashville, Ga.

4 Grandchildren: Kimberly Jewell and husband David

                             Trista Anderson and John Howard

                             Kayla Kiser and husband Matthew

                             Kelsey Whaley

3 Brothers:  Johnny Suggs of Blackshear, Ga.
                  Jerry Suggs of Willacoochee, Ga.
                  James Suggs of Douglas, Ga.

4 Sisters:  Margaret Conger and husband, Jr. of Willacoochee, Ga.
                Marsha Suggs of Willacoochee, Ga.
                Cindy Yawn and husband, Jerry of Willacoochee, Ga.
                Mattie Courdle and husband, Eugene of Willacoochee, Ga.

11 Great-Grandchildren, 4 Step-Great-Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. Suggs were held, Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. at the Willacoochee Church of God with Rev. Lance Taylor and Rev. Charles Blair officiating. Special music included “Almost Home”, “Peace in the Valley”, “Lord Take my Hand” and “Grandpa” rendered by CD. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was by CD.  The interment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery with “Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone” rendered by tape.

Serving as active pallbearer’s were: Daniel Smith, Billy Purvis, Rodney Blankenship, James Suggs,

Jerry Yawn, Randy Cumbus, Josh Jewell and Josh Branch. Honorary pallbearers were: Jr. Conger,

Bubba Yawn and John Howard.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
