Fred D. Paulk

Mr. Fred D. Paulk, age 82, of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away, Friday, October 5, 2018 at his home following an extended illness.   A native of Willacoochee, Ga., Mr. Paulk was born December 8, l935 son of Ines and Susie Fletcher Paulk. He had made his home in Willacoochee his entire life. He was a prominent farmer and was the owner of AC Produce for 22 years. He was a USAF veteran. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, tractor pulling and cooking. He liked to work with metal and was known for inventing many things. He was especially known for manufacturing Barbecue Grills. He regularly attended the Sunday morning Men’s Fellowship Breakfast for many years until poor health kept him from attending. His church membership was at Beulah United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Sue Gaskins Paulk. Survivors include:  Wife: Valerie Paulk of Willacoochee, Ga.Son:  Don Paulk and wife Michele of Willacoochee, Ga.2 Step-Daughters:  Debbie Woods of Fitzgerald, Ga.                                Lisa Frazier of TyTy, Ga. Sister: Melba Clements and husband David of Athens, Ga. Brother: Warren Paulk of Willacoochee, Ga. 2 Grandchildren: Courtney Carter of Willacoochee, Ga.                               Devin Paulk of Willacoochee, Ga. Great-Grandchild: Maddilynn Carter Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.Funeral services for Mr. Paulk were held Monday, October 08, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Beulah United Methodist Church with Rev. Lauri Hartley and Rev. Eddie Morrison officiating. Eulogies were given by Mr. D. Q. Pittman and Mr. Wesley Brown. Special musical selections included “Where The Soul of Man Never Dies” and “Sweet By and By” rendered by D. Q. Pittman (Guitar) and Huey Bennett (Mandolin). “In the Garden” was sung by the attending congregation with Margaret Grantham leading and Tammy Paulk accompanying at the piano. Soft music for the Prelude and the Postlude was by Tammy Paulk. The interment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Mike Tucker, Mark Tucker, Devin Paulk, Wesley Brown, Russell Paulk, and Lyle Gaskins. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Sunday morning Men’s Fellowship Breakfast.Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
