Elzie Fender Murray

Mrs. Elzie Dee Fender Murray, age 39, of Pearson, Ga. passed away, Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a short illness.  

A native of Lanier County, Mrs. Murray was born, February 28, 1979. She was a homemaker and enjoyed baking, traveling and fishing. She was also an Instructor with the Atkinson County Volunteer Fire Department. Mrs. Murray was a member of Pearson Church of God of Prophecy.

Survivors include:

Mother:  Jewell Deen Fender of Pearson, Ga.

Husband:  Don Murray of Pearson, Ga.
 
2 Sons:  Don Murray, Jr. of Pearson, Ga.
              Johnny Murray of Pearson, Ga.

2 Step-Sons:  James Murray and wife Tina of Pearson, Ga.
                       James Fredericks and wife Christy of Pearson, Ga.

1 Daughter:  Haley Spivey of Pearson, Ga.

1 Step-Daughter:  Joanna Bratcher and husband Jonathan of Waycross, Ga.

Brother:  Bennie Fender of Valdosta, Ga.

Sister:  Mary Marchmen of Pearson, Ga.

6 Grandchildren and several Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Murray were held, Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Pearson Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Hardy Crosby, Rev. Randall Rhymes and Rev. Lance Taylor officiating. Special musical selections included, “Will the Circle Be Unbroken”, “Dancing in the Sky”, “Amazing Grace”, “Go Rest High on that Mountain” and “When I Get Where I’m Going” all rendered by c.d.   Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was provided by c.d. The interment followed in Sweetwater Cemetery with special musical selection, “In My Robe of White” rendered acapella by Rev. Hardy Crosby.

Serving as active pallbearers were: Members of the Atkinson County Volunteer Fire Dept.: Robbie Stone, Brian Schotsch, Steve Marchman, Bennie Reliford, Donnie Lee Stone and Marcus Williams.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were: Atkinson County Volunteer Firefighters.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
