Elsa Ponce

Mrs. Elsa Ponce, age 64 of Pearson, Ga. passed away, Monday, August 1, 2022, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.  She was born, February 2, 1958, in La Florida, Guerrero Mexico, daughter of German Portillo and Esequiela Urquiza.  Mrs. Ponce had made her home here in Atkinson County since 1995, where she was a homemaker and took great pride in raising her family.  She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed spending time and making memories with her children and grandchildren.  Mrs. Ponce was preceded in death, along with her parents, by her husband, Jose Ponce.  

Survivors include:

Son:  Carlos Ponce of Pearson, Ga.

2 Daughters:  Elsa Garduno and husband, Adelfo of Pearson, Ga.

                     Azucena Ponce and fiancé, Timothy Blake Eason of Savannah, Ga.

2 Grandsons:  Leo and Isaac of Pearson, Ga.

5 brothers, 2 sisters along with several other nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Memorialization is by cremation.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donations be made in Mrs. Ponce's honor, to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
