Dr. Gordon Boone

Dr. Gordon Boone, age 79, of Douglas, Ga., formerly of Axson, Ga., passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Lakeside Senior Living in Douglas, Ga.

Dr. Boone was born on July 07, 1946, in Axson, Ga. to the late Homer and Ruth Weathers Boone. Dr. Boone was a l964 Graduate of Atkinson Count High School. After high school, he attended The University of Georgia where he graduated with a Pharmacy Degree. After graduation he returned to Pearson, where he owned and operated Boone’s Pharmacy for many years. He then decided to pursue a career in medicine. After finishing medical school, he returned to Douglas, Ga., where he practiced medicine for some thirty years. He was of the Christian Faith and in his spare time, he enjoyed golfing and helping others. Along with his parents, Dr. Boone was preceded in death by his wife, Luzy Deen Boone, 4 brothers, JD, Charlie, Bobby and Sydney Boone, and 2 sisters, Madge Haskins and Lelia Boone.

Survivors Include:

2 Sons: Mitchell Boone and wife Lindsay of Douglas, Ga.

               Brad Boone of Jacksonville, Fl.

Daughter: Arlena Dobbins and husband Kent of Jacksonville, Fl.

4 Grandchildren: Braydon Boone, Landon Smith, Lindsey Dobbins, Lauren Gaul and husband Chris.

Funeral services for Dr. Boone were held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. with Rev. Edward Mathews officiating. Special music included “How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace” presented by cd. The interment followed at Union Hill Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were, Michael McDaniel, Leslie Deen, Dagan Boone, ,Braydon Boone, Landon Smith and Bryan Harrell.

Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
