Mrs. Doris Ann Hendrix May, age 88 of Axson, Ga passed away on Friday, July 12, 2019 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. Mrs. May was born on April 10, 1931 in Ware County, Ga., the daughter of the late Eli Bradford and Lucinda Thrift Hendrix. She was a homemaker who especially loved gardening, cooking, traveling and redoing antiques. Mrs. May was preceded in death by her parents, as well as, four brothers, Lloyd Hendrix, Wilbur Hendrix, George Hendrix and Silas Hendrix and one sister, Rose Mckenzie. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Karey Lynn May Mendoza.   Survivors include:   Husband of 66 years: Mr. Jack May of Axson, Ga.   Daughter: Linda Morris and husband, Terry of Pearson, Ga.   2 Sons: Gary May and wife, JoAnn of Axson, Ga.              George May and wife, Susan of Axson, Ga.   Brother: Flemon Hendrix and wife, Mildred of Waycross, Ga. 3 Sisters-in-laws: Vera Peavy of Douglas, Ga.                              Isabelle Hendrix of Waycross, Ga.                              Bennie Jo Hendrix of Waycross, Ga   6 Grandchildren: Alayna Stuckey, and fiancé Robert Granger of Carrollton, TX                              Kristi May-Crews and husband, Cody of Axson, Ga.                              Amy Morris, and husband, Jason of Jacksonville, FL                              Nicole Chaney and husband, Eric of Douglas, Ga.                              Amanda Morris of Alma, Ga.                              Brandon Morris and wife, Morgan of Pearson, Ga.   10 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren.   She is also survived by numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and extended family.   Funeral Services for Mrs. May were held on Monday, July 15, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Axson Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Britt Peavy officiating. Special musical selections included, “Amazing Grace” and “In the Sweet By and By” rendered by cd. The interment followed in Axson Cemetery.   Serving as active pallbearers were: David Bennett, Bill McCullar, Shawn Hendrix, Luke Hendrix, Tommy Walden and James Hendrix.   Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
