Mr. Dewey L. “Junior” Cooper, Jr. age 74 years old, of Nashville, Ga., passed away, Saturday, September 23, 2023, at his home following an extended illness.  He was born in Berrien County on December 17, 1948, son of Mr. & Mrs. Dewey, Sr. and Ruby Griner Cooper.  Junior made his home in Nashville, where he raised his family, and took great pride in caring and providing for them.  He was the owner of Corbitt's Hardware Store, in Willacoochee, Ga., and was an appliance repair man.  In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his golf-cart, gardening, fishing and loved his John Deere.  Junior was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam conflict, and a member of the Willacoochee Christian Church.  He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by two brothers: Johnny Cooper, and James Cooper.

Survivors include:

Wife:  Virginia Cooper of Nashville, Ga. 

2 Daughters:  Angie Wade and husband Tommy of Nashville, Ga. 
                      Melissa Vickers and husband Iraman of Alapaha, Ga. 

Brother:  Jackie May and wife Bobbinell of New Albany, In.

4 Sisters:  Doris Booth and husband Dan of Ray City, Ga. 
                 Joyce Booth and husband Larry of Nashville, Ga. 
                 Madaline Sanders and husband Bob of Valdosta, Ga. 
                 Dot Lopez of Ray City, Ga. 

5 Grandchildren:  Maygon Wade, Taylor Wade, Dana Vickers, Adrianne Roberts & husband Stephen, and Brady Vickers & wife Lexi.

2 Great-Grandchildren:  Hadley Roberts and Dean Vickers

Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Cooper were held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Willacoochee Christian Church (Formerly Willacoochee United Methodist) with Rev. Sim Youngblood officiating.  Speakers included, Mrs. Marsha Coribtt, and Mr. Charlie Bray.  Special musical selections included, "Stroll Over Heaven", and "No Matter What" rendered by cd.  The interment followed in Riverside Cemetery in Berrien County.

Serving as acting pallbearers were:  Scott Duggan, Mike Duggan, Christ West, Jim Paulk, Mark Tucker, and Cray Grantham.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were:  Charlie Bray, Glenn Joiner, Willie Ray Lott, Jerome Crosby, Bill McCranie, John Rowe, Jerry Brogdon, and Sammy Storey.

Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
