Derrick Tanner

Mr. Derrick Tanner, age 53 years old of Pearson, Ga., passed away, Sunday, September 17, 2023, at his home surrounded by family and friends.  He was born in Alachua County, Florida, on June 19, 1970, son of Mary Helen Joyner Tanner.  Derrick made his home in Pearson, where he worked as a mechanic for Guthrie Motors.  He attended the Willacoochee Church of God, and in his spare time, Derrick loved to fish, take care of his grandchildren, and spend time with family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Helen Joyner, and his wife, Patricia Tanner.

Survivors include:

Son:  Brock Fredricks and wife, Kasey Corbitt of Pearson, Ga.

2 Brothers:  Joe Tanner of Pearson, Ga.

                   Shane Tanner of Blackshear, Ga.

3 Grandchildren, along with several other nieces, nephews, and other relatives, also survive.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Helen Joyner, and his wife, Patricia Tanner.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Tanner were held, Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Utah Cemetery in Axson, Ga. at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Clint Ledford and Rev. Clyde Purvis officiating.  Special musical selections included; " "Come Jesus Come", "Red Letter", and "Scars in Heaven" all rendered by cd.

Serving as active pallbearers were:  Tony Joyner, Billy Purvis, Jesse Mancil, Lee Anderson, Russell Hurlbert, and Dewaine Groover.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
