Catalino Gaona

Mr. Catalino Gaona, age 67 years old, of Willacoochee, Ga., passed away Friday, March 22, 2024, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Ga. following an extended illness.  He was born in Guerrero, Mexico on April 30, 1956, son of Epifanio Gaona & Dolores Vasquez.  Mr. Gaona made his home in the Willacoochee area for the last 38 years as he worked in farming and agriculture and took great pride in providing for and taking care of his family and loved ones.  He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by his sister, Delfa Gaona and 2 brothers, Apolinar Gaona and Apanacio Gaona.

Wife: Maria Gaona of Willacoochee, Ga.

2 Sons: Fernando Gaona and wife Charlotte of Pearson, Ga.
             Daniel Gaona and wife Marisol of Willacoochee, Ga.
 
4 Daughters: Obdulia Beiza and husband Jose of Willacoochee, Ga.
                      Maria Felix Sanches and husband Fidencio of Willacoochee, Ga.
                      Francisca Diaz and husband Jaun Carlos of Willacoochee, Ga.
                      Lucia Mata and husband Juan of Willacoochee, Ga.

3 Brothers: Celestino Gaona and wife Fidelia of Willacoochee, Ga.
                   Florencio Gaona and wife Bridgette of Willacoochee, Ga.
                   Alejandro Gaona and wife Fidelia of Greensboro, N.C.

2 Sisters: Juana Sanchez and husband Jose of Texas.
                Asuncion Toledo and husband Humberto of Mexico.

11 Grandchildren, 2 Great-Grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with many other relatives and friends, also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Gaona were held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Alpha-Y-Omega Church in Willacoochee, Ga. at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Harvey Williams officiating.  The interment then followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
