Bobby Joiner

Mr. Bobby Joiner, age 75 of Willacoochee, Ga., passed away, Monday, December 27, 2021, at his home following an extended illness. He was born, August 9, 1946, in Homerville, Ga., son of Jeff Joiner and Willie Mae McNatt.  Mr. Joiner made his home in Willacoochee where he worked as a truck driver and went on to own and operate, Bobby Joiner Escort Co.  He was a member of the Willacoochee Holiness Baptist Church where he also served as Deacon.  Mr. Joiner enjoyed going to church, fishing, and driving semi-trucks.  He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by his wife, Linda Jean Luke Joiner, sister, Myrtle Rowe and granddaughter, Gabriella Westberry.

Survivors include:

Son:  Michael Joiner and wife, Carmen of Willacoochee, Ga.

3 Daughters:  Janet Crews and husband, Terry of Willacoochee, Ga.

                    Connie Joiner of Willacoochee, Ga.

                    Amy Westberry and husband, Kevin of Ludowici, Ga.

2 Brothers:  Glenn Joiner and wife, Pam of Willacoochee, Ga.

                   Leroy Joiner and wife, Betty of Willacoochee, Ga.

3 Sisters:  Daisy Chaney and husband, J.T. of Ocilla, Ga.

                Linda Knowles and husband, Phillip of Willacoochee, Ga.

                Catherine Mizell of Axson, Ga.

19 Grandchildren, 31 Great-Grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Joiner were held, Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Willacoochee Holiness Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Rowe and Rev. Russell Joiner officiating.  Special musical selections included, “The Promise”, rendered by soloist, Allyson Newberry with Wayne Lee accompanying on the guitar, and “Wish You Were Here” and “I Want to Stroll Over Heaven with You” both rendered by soloist, Kayla Joiner accompanied by Gay Anne Hodge at the piano.  The interment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery.  

Serving as active pallbearers were:  Josh Bryan, Chris Joiner, Drake Westberry, Bobby Westberry, Matthew Crews, Khalil Owens, Devin Crews, and Nate Owens.  Serving as honorary pallbearers were:  Jay Mathis, Matthew Joiner, and Brett Taylor.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
