Betty Sue Corbitt

November 5, 1943 — July 30, 2021

Mrs. Betty Sue Corbitt, age 77, passed away Friday, July 30, 2021, at Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Coffee County, Mrs. Corbitt was born, November 5, 1943, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sydney and Pauline Branch Disharoon. She enjoyed and dedicated her life to taking care of her family, whether that be in their home or on the farm, alongside her husband. Mrs. Corbitt could always be found tending her flowers and garden or in the kitchen canning food and cooking for her family. She was a member of Ozias Freewill Baptist Church in Pearson, Ga. Mrs. Corbitt was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jane Sumner and her husband, Mr. Buddy Corbitt.

2 Sons: James Corbitt and wife, Bonnie of Pearson, Ga.
           Jimmy Corbitt and wife, Melissa of Pearson, Ga.

2 Daughters: Barbara Clement and husband, Stanley of Willacoochee, Ga.
                   Jan Mitchell and husband, Johnny of Brunswick, Ga.

2 Brothers: Wayne Disharoon and wife Mauria of Axson, Ga.
                 Wilson Disharoon of Nashville, Ga.

4 Sisters: Marie Crosby of Douglas, Ga.
               Diane Sirmans and husband Wayne of Douglas, Ga.
              Lynette Foster and husband Steve of Byron, Ga.
               Valerie Gaye Bennett and husband Roy of Douglas, Ga.

9 Grandchildren: John Mitchell, Reese Mitchell, Haley Mitchell, John Thomas Mitchell, Gage Corbitt and wife, Shea, Emily Corbitt, Jimmy Cade Corbitt, Drew Corbitt, and Bryce Corbitt

Great-Grandson: Jace Corbitt

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and other relatives, also survive.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Corbitt was held Monday, August 2, 2021, at 10:30 A.M. at Ozias Cemetery in Pearson, Ga. with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Special musical selections included, “Not Afraid” and “Lord, Lead Me Home” by soloist and guitarist, Michael Johnson. The interment followed in Ozias Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were: Troy Sirmans, Blake Barnell, Rick Disharoon, Rick Corbitt, Myckeal Disharoon, and Keith Wright.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were: Missy Bennett, Janice Adams, and Denise Garrett.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
