Betty Ruth Cater

Mrs. Betty Ruth Cater, age 80 of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away Monday, June 010, 2024, at her home in Willacoochee, Ga.

Mrs. Cater was born November l4, l943 in Douglas, Ga. to the late Alton and Lelia Mancil Sutton. She had made her home in Atkinson County her entire life and worked for many years as the General Manager of the Holiday Inn in Douglas, Ga. After retiring she spent most of her time being a homemaker. She enjoyed shopping, decorating, cooking, flowers, reading, watching her favorite tv shows, and going to church. She was a member of the Willacoochee First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Otis Cater.

 Survivors include:

Son: Allen Cater and wife Lisa of Willacoochee, Ga.

Sister: Linda Gail Mixon of Pearson, Ga.

Grandchildren: James Jackson and spouse Ariel, and Greg Jackson and spouse Lizzy.

Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive

Memorial services for Mrs. Cater were held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at the Willacoochee First Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Taft officiating. Special musical selections included “The Robe” and “Amazing Grace “rendered by soloist Lea Ann McMillan with Gay Ann Hodge accompanying at the piano.

The interment followed in Antioch Cemetery.

Memorialization was by cremation 

Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
