Betty Murl Bazemore

April 13, 1936 — July 2, 2019

Mrs. Betty Murl McGovern Bazemore, age 83, of Pearson, Ga. passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at her home in Pearson, Ga. following an extended illness.  A native of Atkinson County, Mrs. Bazemore was born, April 13, 1936, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Lula Douglas McGovern, Sr. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and gardening. Mrs. Bazemore was a member of Sunnyside Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents along with her husband, Mr. Robert D. Bazemore.

 

Survivors include:

5 Sons:  Robbie Dale Bazemore and wife, Debbie of Axson, Ga.

             Randy McGovern and wife, Patricia of Pearson, Ga.

             Barney Ray McGovern and wife, Bonnie of Pearson, Ga.

             Ricky Bazemore and wife, Mandy of Pearson, Ga.

             Keith Bazemore and wife, Melissa of Pearson, Ga.

Caregiver: Diane Gonzalez

8 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Bazemore were held, Saturday, July 06, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Sunnyside Freewill Baptist Church in Pearson, Ga. with Rev. Teddy Burch officiating.  Special musical selections included, “Where Angels Fear to Tread” rendered by soloist, Zenda Adair with c.d. accompaniment and “Winner Either Way” rendered by the Sunnyside Singers with Margaret Williams accompanying at the piano. Interment followed in Sunnyside Church Cemetery with special song, “Eagle When she Flies” rendered by c.d. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was rendered by pianist, Margaret Williams.

 

Serving as active pallbearers were: Logan McGovern, Lee McGovern, Christopher McGovern, Mickey Braddy, Cody Bazemore, Gabe Spivey and Debra Corbitt.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
