Mrs. Alice Lee Hardee

February 4, 1947 — September 17, 2023

Millwood, Ga.

Mrs. Alice Lee Hardee, age 76 years old of Millwood, Ga., passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones, at St. Vincent Riverside Hospital, in Jacksonville, Fla., following a short illness.

Mrs. Alice was born in Millwood, Ga., on February 4, 1947, daughter of Mr. Harvey Thompson and Mrs. Ellen Johnstun Thompson.  Making her home there in Millwood, she, along with her true love of 56 years, Roy Lee, took great pride in providing for, and raising their family, with lessons of tender mercy and love, working hard, serving others, being charitable, being honest, building a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and eating good-homecooked food, especially if she was the one who cooked it!  If you were blessed to know Sis. Alice, you will agree, that her hands were rarely still.  I believe she could do anything!  Cooking, sewing, taking care of babies, serving in the Relief Society Presidency, even playing softball on Wednesday nights with the youth of the church.  Mrs. Alice worked as the Custodian for the Pearson Ward church building for many years, along with working as a Lunchroom Lady for Waresboro Elementary School.  She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

She was definitely “one of a kind”.  Mrs. Alice’s presence in this life will be greatly missed, but for all these things, and so many more, her spirit will live on in the lives of her children and especially in the lives of her heart, which was her grandchildren and great-grands.  In the sacred words of Mrs. Alice’s own personal testimony, we can hear her stand and say, “…how grateful I am to know that our Father in Heaven knows us personally.  He loves us and wants to help us if only we will let Him.   There is no greater blessing He gives to us, than family.  I love my family and I know that Families are Forever.  In the sacred name of Jesus Christ, Amen…”
