White age 79 of Axson, Ga. passed away Monday, May l8, 2009 at Palmyra Medical Center in Albany, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Atkinson County, Mrs. White was born December 25, 1929, daughter of Alvie Jackson, Sr. and Ruby Edna White Williams. She worked for many years in the garment industry as a line foreman. Her church membership was at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Pearson Ward. A son Robert White preceded her in death. Survivors include: Husband of 64 years: G. W. White of Axson, Ga. 1 Daughter: Linda Gail Davis of Axson, Ga. 4 Sons: George Edwin White and wife Ann of Axson, Ga. Mitchell White of Axson, Ga. Johnny White of Pearson, Ga. Hubert White of Axson, Ga. 1 Brother: Alvie Jackson Williams, Jr. and wife Mary Jeanne of Live Oak, Fl. 1 Sister: Jeanette Hokaszewski of Owensville, Missouri 11 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild and several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. White were held at 2:00 P. M. Thursday, May 21, 2009 at the Axson Cemetery with Bishop Steve Sirmans, Rev. Clayton Davis and Rev. Rob Hutto officiating. Special music included "In His Arms I'm Not Afraid" and "Where The Heart Will Never Break Again" rendered by the Sweetwater Creek Singers. The interment followed in the Axson Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Dennis Giddens, Jamie White, Joey Davis, Wad Sears, Jr., Dale Davis, Jeffery Studebaker, Adam Nelson and Timothy Hall.
