VIRUE COURSON Mrs. Virue Palmer Courson age 91, of Jacksonville, Fl. formerly of Pearson, Ga. passed away early Monday morning, June 1, 2009 at Northeast Fl. Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Fl. following an extended illness. A native of Atkinson County, Mrs. Courson was born February 24, 1918 daughter of Asberry and Lilla Smith Palmer. She worked for many years in sales for a linen company and was of the Methodist faith. Mrs. Courson was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Terrell Courson. Survivors include: Son: Carl Courson and wife Nancy of Jacksonville, Fl. 3 Granddaughters: Cynthia Berger of Dunedin, Fl. Carla Montgomery of Jacksonville, Fl. Candace Ford and husband, Jimmy of Jacksonville, Fl. 6 Great-Grandchildren: Elyse Berger, Chase Berger, Graham Montgomery, Bailey Montgomery, Dillon Ford, and Trevor Ford Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Courson were held at 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Rev. J. B. Ware officiating. The Eulogy was given by Mrs. Courson's great-granddaughter, Elyse Berger. Special musical selections included, "The Lord's Prayer" and "It is Well With My Soul" rendered acappella by soloist, Don Hoffman. The interment followed in Sweetwater Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Chase Berger, Graham Montgomery, Jimmy Ford, Alan Montgomery, Sammy Holden, Richard Montgomery and Larry Courson.
