Mrs. Mattie Lou Brown age 67 of Homerville, Ga. passed away Monday, August 10, 2009 at Clinch Co. Memorial Hospital in Homerville, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Atkinson County, Mrs. Brown was born April 30, 1942 daughter of Elmo and Ernestine Soles Maine. She was a homemaker and attended Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Homerville, Ga. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Brown. Survivors include: 1 Son: Allen Brown, Sr. and wife Janice of Homerville, Ga. 1 Brother: Earl Main of Alabama 3 Grandchildren: Allen Brown, Jr. and wife Jessica Robert Brown Scott Brown 1 Great-Grandchild: Lindsey Cadence Brown Funeral services for Mrs. Brown were held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Indian Mound Baptist Church in Millwood, Ga. with Rev. Clayton Davis and Rev. Freddie Whitley officiating. Special musical selections were "Stand Still" and "For Those Tears I Died" rendered by soloist, Kandy Thrift with tape accompaniment. The interment followed at Hebron Cemetery in Coffee County. Serving as active pallbearers were: Timothy Adams, Benji Adams, Randy Braswell, Ricky Braswell, Richard Selph, and Don Daniels. Serving as honorary pallbearers were: Caren Geiger, Clarence Adams, Ernie Smith, and Willie Shirley. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
