Loyd Parker Blount

Mrs. Loyd Parker Blount age 94 of Snellville, Ga. formerly of Pearson, Ga. passed away Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Embracing Hospice in Snellville, Ga.. A native of Calhoun County Fl. Mrs. Blount was born November 25, l9l5 daughter of Wiley and Mattie Burkett Parker. She had made her home in Pearson for many years and along with her late husband operated Blount's Hardware Store. She moved to Snellville, Ga. about 15 years ago to live with her son. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her husband Wilbur V. Blount preceded her in death. Survivors include: 2 Sons: Parker Blount and wife Mandy of Reidsville, Ga. Jim Blount and wife Sue of Snellville, Ga. 12 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Blount were held at 2:00 P. M. Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pearson, Ga. with Bishop Steve Sirmans officiating. Her niece Robyn Rudd, daughter in law Sue Blount and son Parker Blount gave reflections and memories of Mrs. Blount. Special musical selections "I Stand All Amazed", "How Great Thou Art" and "Come Unto Jesus" were rendered by the attending congregation with Ellen Hardee accompanying at the piano. Ellen Hardee pianist played soft music for the Prelude and the Postlude. The interment followed in Satilla Memorial Gardens.. Serving as active pallbearers were: James Blount, Jr., Tyler Blount, Chris Blount, Matthew Blount, Patrick Blount, Tony Cappuccio and Mark Rudd. Honorary pallbearers were: Charlie Bray, Bruce Corbitt, Larry Davis, James Joyce, Will Lewis and Kipp Pittman. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
