Mrs. Ruth Biddy Coffee age 86, of Pearson, Ga. passed away Wednesday, February 24, 20l0 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Rome, Ga. Mrs. Coffee was born February 22, l924 daughter of Carl and Lucille Davis Autry. She had made her home in Pearson, Ga. since l955, when she and her first husband moved here to open Biddy Lumber Co. She later worked for Attorney Jack Helms and as a secretary for Griffin Feed and Seed in Douglas, Ga.. She was a member of Eastern Star and former member of the Pearson Women's Club. She was a member of Pearson United Methodist Church and was active in UMW. She was preceded in death by her first husband Pat M. Biddy, Sr. and her second husband John Coffee. Survivors include: 3 Sons: Pat Biddy, Jr. and friend Emily Kight of Wrightsville, Ga. William C. "Bill" Biddy and friend Susan Bailey of Pearson, Ga. Dennis Biddy and wife Mary of Eufala, Al. 2 Step Daughters: Aletha Newmans and husband Ricky of Willacoochee, Ga. Melanie James of Pooler, Ga. 6 Grandchildren: Jo Margaret Bennett and husband Jason Pat " Trey' Biddy III and fiancée Mary Linda Roberson Laura Biddy and fiancé Drew Frith Suzanne Biddy Julia Caroline Biddy Dennis Chip" Biddy, Jr. 3 Step Grandchildren: Shane Newmans and wife Amanda Cam Newmans Matt Carpenter 2 Great Grandchildren: Cate Bennett and Gage Bennett Funeral Services for Mrs. Coffee were held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 27, 20l0 at Pearson United Methodist Church with Rev. Evelyn Duvall officiating. Special musical selections included "How Great Thou Art" and "I Can Only Imagine" rendered by John Lang soloist/pianist. Phil Liles pianist played soft music for the Prelude and the Postlude. The interment followed on Sunday, February 28, 20l0 at 2:00 P.M. at East View Cemetery in Adairsville, Ga. with Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating and "Amazing Grace" played by bagpipes at the gravesite. Serving as active pallbearers were L.H. James, Quill James, Billy Mizell, Stanley Mizell, Rick Armstrong, and Bill Walker. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
