Veneta Anne Cochran

Mrs. Veneta Anne Cochran age 79 of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away Wednesday, April 13, 20ll at her home following an extended illness. A native of Willacoochee, Ga., Mrs. Cochran was born on March 13, 1932 daughter of William Ottis, Sr. and Montez Wall McDonald. She especially loved birds and had a special pet bird named Pretty Girl. She was retired from JP Stevens Co. and had also worked at Nashville Mills. Her church membership was at Willacoochee United Methodist Church. Survivors include: 2 Daughters: Sherry Montez Zeigler of Valdosta, Ga. Erika Cenetelle Godwin of Nashville, Ga. 1 Son: Stanley Gordon Hughes of Nashville, Ga. 1 Brother: William Ottis McDonald, Jr. of Pearson, Ga. Very Special Friend: Larrry Eugene Bristol of Willacoochee, Ga. 5 Grandchildren: Joanna Montez Jones, Brandon Wayne Graham Chad Everett Godwin, William Deric Godwin, and Kasi Anne Godwin 9 Great Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Cochran were held at 2 P. M. Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Willacoochee City Cemetery with Rev. Edward Mathews and Brother Hal Baxley officiating. Special music selections were "Amazing Grace" and "Go Rest High On That Mountain" rendered by Hal Baxley and David Sirmans who accompanied themselves on the guitar. The interment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Brandon Wayne Graham, Chad Everett Godwin, William Deric Godwin, and Todd Jones. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
